Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal is staying grounded despite the recent upturn in form.
Despite a shock loss to Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup, the Owls have been fantastic over the last month and their 2-1 comeback win over Birmingham City put them in the top six of the Championship.
And while fans are getting increasingly excited about what could happen this season, Carvalhal has refused to speculate on what will happen at the end of the season, instead choosing to take this game by game.
And next up for Carvalhal is a tough game against Brentford. While the Portuguese manager believes it was the performance in the loss against Burnley which was the defining moment in their season, some fans think it was their tough late win at Griffin Park which proved that Wednesday could be promoted this season.
Talking ahead of the Brentford game, Carvalhal told the club website: “My feet are on the floor all of the time,”
“We know what we are doing, how we are doing and why we are winning. We are excited but not excessively so.”
“We are in a moderated mood, we understand that to win the games we must fight a lot, we must have character and we must play like a team.”
“But we are with our feet on the floor, we are in the process and we try to correct things.”
