Wolves have signed Jeremy Helan on loan from Sheffield Wednesday until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old defender, who can also play in midfield, will add extra pace to the team now he has signed a deal with the club until May.
Helan has been on the pitch plenty of times for Wednesday this season having made 22 appearances for the, club. However most of those have been as a substitute which is why Helan has decided to make this temporary move as he hopes to get more starts at Molineux.
After playing for several French clubs such as Stade Rennais at a youth level, Helan got his big break when he made the move to Manchester City. He never made an appearance for the oil rich club, but did have loan spells with Shrewsbury Town and Carlisle United before joining Wednesday.
Following the completion of the move, Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett told the club website: “He’s an attacking player and has a lot of pace and power, which is something we need in either position. We’re very pleased to add him.”
“He gives us natural balance on the left side, we’ve had a considerable amount of injuries down there.” “He can play wide left or at left back. I think he’s capable of both and he’s comfortable in either depending on the system that you play.”
