Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal has said he has a fully fit squad to pick from for the derby match against Rotherham United.
The Owls had two injury doubts going into this game but Carvalhal revealed today that both will be able to play in the South Yorkshire derby.
Joe Wildsmith, who has been out for six weeks since he suffered a back injury in the win against Bolton Wanderers, will be back for this game though it is unlikely he will unseat Keiren Westwood as the number one. Sam Hutchinson, who got a back problem during the game against Hull City, also should be ready for the rivalry game.
The only player Carvalhal won’t be able to pick is Fernando Forestieri who was controversially sent off after picking up a second yellow card for simulation, despite replays showing there was clear contract.
Ahead of the game against Rotherham, Carvalhal told the Sheffield Star: “Joe Wildsmith has started training now. We have a full squad. It is just Fernando who is out. We are strong. We are with a full squad.”
“In December-January, we were missing seven or eight players. We missed a lot of players. We have three games in a week coming up and we guys who can be with good energy to help the team.”
