Preston North End manager Simon Grayson has said he is ready for another big game.

The Lilywhites are turning into dark horses for promotion after their recent form took them into the top half of the Championship. To prove their credentials though, they will have to perform when they face Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend.

Like a lot of their opponents in recent weeks, Brighton are challenging for promotion and are back in top form after a recent stutter and it will pose a big challenge for Grayson’s side.

But Preston have beaten a lot of top sides in the Championship and go into this game on a run of three home wins, giving the fans plenty of hope that they can get another win. And Grayson is also ready for what he describes as another big fixture.

Talking ahead of the game with Brighton, Grayson told the club website: “We know it’s another big game, another big game at Deepdale, we seem to have done well in the big games so far this season so hopefully that can be the same again.”

“Brighton have been very consistent right the way through the season, they are up near the top two or three again, they had a little blip but they have had some great results over the last few weeks.”

“They responded really well after being beaten at Cardiff with an emphatic win against Bristol City and then again against Leeds the other night.”

“We know we are in for a tough game, they’ve got some very good players, they’re really organised under Chris.”

“When you look at the teams that are at the top, all of them are no spills teams, they work hard for the club. The likes of Middlesbrough, Burnley, Hull, Brighton, they are the most consistent teams in the division and you know what you are going to get from them every week.”

“You get organised, disciplined teams, they are hard to break down and they’ve got players who can win you matches, and I think that’s how you have to be in this league.”

“It shows if you are like that, if you hang in games and weather the storm, and you grind teams down then you’re going to get results.”
