With the likes of Jamie Vardy, Charlie Austin and Troy Deeney all performing in the Premier League, it is very likely that all eyes will be on the Championship as teams look for the next big striker.
But the question is who it is? Well using our new Duel feature, we’re going to find out.
From the pictures below, you pick who you feel the best striker is and the winner stays on. Who will be the best? You decide!
Andre Gray (Burnley)
Burnley needed a spark after Danny Ings left for Liverpool, and Andre Gray was the man to provide it. This season he has scored 19 goals and is a big reason that at the time writing they top the Championship.
Jordan Rhodes (Middlesbrough)
Middlesbrough needed a top class striker and they now have one in Jordan Rhodes. With his former club Blackburn Rovers, he scored 12 goals and is a born finisher.
Fernando Forestieri (Sheffield Wednesday)
When he’s not being sent off for being taken out, Fernando Forestieri is a little maestro for the Owls, working hard to score 12 goals and provide plenty of creativity as well.
Ross McCormack (Fulham)
Yeah, how can we got without mentioning this guy? Ross McCormack is one of the most unstoppable strikers in the Championship and despite a struggling team, he has already got 19 goals.
Gary Hooper (Sheffield Wednesday)
Gary Hooper has only been with Sheffield Wednesday since November, yet the impact he has made as a pure goalscorer has been massive. His ten goals have kept Wednesday in the promotion race.
Brett Pitman (Ipswich Town)
With Daryl Murphy not firing on all cylinders this season, Ipswich needed a replacement. They got one in Brett Pitman, who has already provided 10 goals to the Ipswich cause.
Sam Vokes (Burnley)
Sam Vokes seems to be forgotten now that his partnership with Danny Ings has ended, even though the newly formed duo between him and Andre Gray has resulted in him scoring ten goals.
Abel Hernandez (Hull City)
Talk about a rebirth. Last season, Abel Hernandez was seen as a flop signing. This season, he is a goal machine who has netted 17 times as they aim to get promoted back to the Premier League.
Moussa Dembele (Fulham)
Fulham are lucky enough to have top top quality strikers and Moussa Dembele is the other guy, though he certainly can stand up on his own as a great. He has scored 13 goals after breaking into the first team on a regular basis this season.
Nahki Wells (Huddersfield Town)
Huddersfield Town are on the wrong side of the table right now, but that’s certainly not because of Nahki Wells. His pace continues to trouble defences across the league and has got 14 goals to his name.
Chris Martin (Derby County)
Derby have had several big name signings yet Chris Martin remains a key part of the team. That’s because he is a regular goal threat and has already scored 12 times this season.
Tomer Hemed (Brighton and Hove Albion)
This one is a bit of a sleeper I know, but Tomer Hemed has been a big player for Brighton this season. He has scored 11 goals this season, scoring goals at vital times.
Jonathan Kodjia (Bristol City)
Bristol City have been trying to sign big name strikers all season, yet they already have one at Ashton Gate in the shape of Jonathan Kodjia. He’s scored 13 goals this season, a great help in the battle against relegation.
Cristhian Stuani (Middlesbrough)
Middlesbrough did have a good striker before signing Jordan Rhodes and that was the Uruguay international Christian Stuani. He scored ten goals which were key in the promotion effort.
Nick Blackman (Derby County)
While Nick Blackman’s move to Derby County is yet to really work out, he was nothing short of brilliant at Reading and the fact they’ve dropped off since his departure is testament to that. In the whole season, he’s scored 11 goals.
