Game of the season? Quite possibly. A huge boost for the team fighting relegation and another blow for a team trying to keep a promotion bid alive? Almost certainly.

This thriller at the New York Stadium was one that caught the eye, and for a good reason. Derby made it look as if they were back in the swing of things when a brace from Tom Ince plus one extra from Chris Martin gave them a comfortable lead going into the end of the game.

However Rotherham, coming into this game with three wins in a row, weren’t going to give up and they somehow came back from three down in the last ten minutes. Danny Ward got them rolling then Leon Best, who failed to score in his loan spell at Derby last season, scored a brace to make sure the Rams would once again be doubting themselves.

But what in particular did we learn? Well let’s find out!
