Brentford have signed Leandro Rodriguez on loan from Everton for one month.
The Bees head coach Dean Smith had said earlier in the week that he wanted to bring in a player on loan in order to cause a spark that would turn their recent poor form around. And Smith believes he has found his man after he brought Rodriguez on a temporary deal that will last until midway into April.
The 23-year-old striker comes to Brentford with plenty of pedigree. He has only been at Everton since 2015 after he signed from Uruguayan side River Plate Montevideo. He got his move to England after impressing scouts by scoring 10 goals in 27 games and recently made his debut in the win against Brentford.
Now though he can really test himself in English football as he hopes to get a run of games with Brentford.
Following the move, Smith told the club website: “Leandro comes highly recommended and arrives at a good time for us. It is nice to be able to bring in a player on loan and we are thankful that Everton have allowed him to come. He trains with their First Team every day and is very highly thought of. We do not want to put too much pressure on him but he will give us a lift and we believe he can help us to end our current run of form.”
