Birmingham City have signed Kyle Lafferty on loan from Norwich City for the rest of the season, as confirmed by the club website.
The 28-year-old striker had been linked with a move to Leeds United since January but in the last week both Birmingham and their promotion rivals Sheffield Wednesday tried to sign him. However it was the Blues who won that battle and have signed him until the end of May.
Lafferty won’t immediately be joining up with Birmingham as he is currently with the Northern Ireland squad but when he returns it is hoped he can help with Birmingham’s bid to be in the play offs.
Since signing from Italian side Palermo, Lafferty has been unable to break into the first team on a regular basis and has only made 23 appearances over his two years at the club. Keen to seal his place at Euro 2016, Lafferty will hope to hit top form in this late season loan.
